In the Scriptures we read that "all things work together...
In the Scriptures we read that "all things work together for good to them that love God." Thus it was in my experience, and it is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of the many benefits received, and more especially of the immediate healing which has come to me through Christian Science. Since childhood I suffered from a bowel difficulty declared chronic by my physician, and all the material means resorted to brought only temporary relief. I however put my trust in God, feeling that He alone could free me from this trying condition, and this came about when in 1912 Christian Science came into my life.
A dear lady who is a Christian Science practitioner gave me a few copies of the Herold to read. I immediately took an interest in its inspiring contents, and a few days later, when the truths of Christian Science were elucidated to me, I asked for treatment, which was lovingly taken up. I also kept in mind the 121st psalm. I was healed on the next day and since then have enjoyed good health. This beautiful demonstration made me feel very happy indeed. I was also freed through Christian Science treatment of severe headaches, and a short time ago of a facial swelling. The error of being flat-footed was also overcome, and I was able to discard all arch supports.
It would be impossible to tell in detail of the instances in which the power of divine Love was experienced, but there is one thing which I would like to add, namely, that every Christian Scientist should take particular care to seek the good himself and to assist to the best of his understanding in the work that may be done for him in Christian Science. The beginner will find that this will bring him a blessing, for good is productive of good only. Whereas there may be hours of discouragement, and even doubt may try to creep in, yet he will hear the "still small voice" saying, Let nothing but good dwell in thy thought, for error, the opposite of truth, has no power. Hence the beautiful promise, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
