I consider it a great joy and privilege to express my love...
I consider it a great joy and privilege to express my love and gratitude for the many blessings the truth of Christian Science has unfolded to me. Out of Egyptian darkness and despair God called me to His glorious light, and He is lovingly leading me to know my true relation to Him and freeing me from belief in sin, sickness, and death. Christian Science has taught me many lessons and has given me a sweet and certain understanding that God is Love, a God at hand who is my God. From the study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I am learning the all-important lesson to refuse to listen to the testimony of the physical senses.
The first healing came to me through the spiritual uplift gained by reading Science and Health, which has indeed proven a key that has unlocked the Scriptures for me. Many sickly and sinful thoughts were so heavy and so noticeably wrong that I was willing to part with them, others left I knew not when; but many times the way seemed obstructed by ignorance or misunderstanding, which only study and growth day by day could overcome. I well remember one time working for months for freedom from a false sense of conditions. Then one day I began to count the blessings this one problem had brought me; needless to say the freedom came at once with this gratitude and changed attitude of thought, for all the time I had been trying to avoid working out this problem instead of being glad for the opportunity to cancel the false sense with the true.
The physical healings have been many and wonderful, but the freedom from their bondage is small compared to the joy in knowing that God and His idea, spiritual man and the spiritual universe, coexist. After having so many gods in medical nursing and a highly educated sense of responsibility for the sick, looking no higher for cause and effect or healing than non-intelligent material help, and knowing no healing for the sinning, words fail to express the love and gratitude I owe to God and to Christ Jesus our Wayshower, also to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, and to all who helped me to awaken from the dark dreams of material sense to know God, good, as our Father-Mother God.
