When I was about thirteen years old a cousin sent some Christian Science literature to my mother. What I had been taught in Sunday school hitherto had never appealed to me, and I was far from being a religious child; but as soon as I read some of this literature I was sure it was the truth. After reading it a few days, I took off my glasses, for it seemed the only natural thing to do. My parents were quite alarmed when I refused to wear the glasses, for they did not believe my eyes had really been healed and thought I would lose my sight. That was ten years ago, and I have never had any trouble with my eyes since.

We were then living in the country, where there were no Scientists with whom I could talk, and no churches or reading-rooms. I saved up my money until I could buy a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and then began studying the Lesson-Sermons faithfully. A few years later I was located so that I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday school, and there I gained much good. I have been healed of many things, one of which was a very serious nervous breakdown. My healing of this was slow, but nevertheless I rejoiced, as I was forced to study all the harder and thereby gained a better understanding of God, who healeth all our diseases.

Christian Science has given me a wonderful sense of protection at all times, and this is especially valuable, as my work calls for constant traveling. I never fear that there will be an accident of any kind, for the Bible says, "He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Mrs. Eddy says angels are "God's thoughts passing to man" (Science and Health, p. 581), so I know that in proportion as I reflect God's thoughts and shut out thoughts of anything contrary to harmony, I am protected. I have also been helped in obtaining engagements. When I have relied on divine Mind to direct me, I have found the right place at the right time, and the surroundings have been most pleasant and congenial. To say that I am grateful for all that has been done for me is to make a very mild statement of a great fact. Every day I feel more grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who set forth this wonderful truth and pointed out the way for us. My thanks also go out to God in loving acknowledgment of all the help received. — Zona F. Cass, New York, N. Y.
