Sixteen years ago I was in great distress, having suffered for years from nervous exhaustion in its worst form. The suffering was so intense that a peaceful night's rest had been unknown for many years. I had tried various remedies, but without avail. One day while out with my sister we met a friend, and she told us that Christian Science would alleviate my suffering. I inquired what it was, and was told that it was the work of God. When I heard the name of our Lord, great joy leaped into my consciousness, and I felt right then that there was hope for me. I began to study Christian Science faithfully, and learned that I had to be meek, humble, and obedient, and also that the blessing of healing would come only through spirituality. Thus by obeying divine Principle and applying it in all my daily living I have been perfectly healed.
I am thankful to our heavenly Father that He has heard my prayers, and that He will always hear His children. My mother has been healed through Christian Science of tuberculosis of the knee. The doctors said the limb would have to be amputated, but it was saved through the healing power of Truth, and restored to a normal condition. There are three in our family, and we rejoice in this wonderful privilege that our Father has bestowed upon us to "be of one mind" in Christ. My only aim is to live Christian Science not alone in words but in deeds, loving God more and more and my neighbors as myself. To say that I am thankful to God for all these blessings is not enough, for the wonderful gift which I have received through the understanding of the truth in Christ, with which I may help others, is a joy from heaven.
I am thankful for all our literature; it has sustained me in many trials and brought me great comfort and peace. I am grateful for the Lesson-Sermons, and also want to express my gratitude for the testimonies published from week to week and those given at the Wednesday evening meetings. We deem it a blessing to have in our home all of Mrs. Eddy's writings, and also the periodicals.
