My healing through Christian Science of serious lung...

My healing through Christian Science of serious lung trouble, a stomach disorder, and an eye difficulty has been permanent, and I am glad to tell of divine protection during and after an accident in an automobile. The power and presence of God were revealed, and there was scarcely any consciousness of a material world. Divine Love marvelously preserved my husband, myself, and our little girl when the automobile, catching in the railing on a temporary bridge, turned upside down into a rocky gully. I have thus learned many lessons in Christian Science from what to mortal sense seemed a serious accident.

I am thinking almost continually upon Christian Science, and so my first thought when the car left the bridge was of God's allness, and of our relationship to Him, our inseparability from Him, and all thoughts of fear, of fire, or hurt of any kind were dispelled. Danger seemed far off while God's thoughts were with us, and I knew that His ideas are real and absolute. The car fell upon two large rocks, the radiator resting on one and the back of the rear seat on the other, leaving plenty of room for all of us in between. My little daughter, who is a Christian Science Sunday school pupil, was afraid at first, but heard me declaring the truth and called to her father, "I am not hurt a bit." Kind people came to our aid. The car was turned over, the engine started, and my husband drove out of the place (it was a shallow gully), and ran the car thirty miles into Santa Barbara. The damage to the car was only slight.

To say that I am grateful poorly expresses the thankfulness that fills my heart, not only for deliverance from danger in this case, but for the understanding that deliverance means a mental perception of spiritual being, of our relationship to Spirit, the real substance of being. No wonder Jesus spoke to the winds and waves and they obeyed; there is no power which can successfully oppose the realization of God's allness.
