I wish to offer a brief testimony of gratitude for what Christian Science means to me. I was getting along only fairly well in life, but had found engineering work interesting and was ambitious to achieve success. While physicians had not told me that I was seriously ill, I did not feel satisfied with my physical condition, and because of this there was a constant fear that I could never be very successful. How to become rebust I was at a loss to determine, so conflicting seemed the various theories. I was ever on the lookout for a satisfactory philosophy of life, and was not content to go blindly on from day to day with the prospect of worldly success but with an unsatisfactory standard of righteousness to govern my actions in attaining it.
At a time when the outlook seemed darker than usual, Christian Science was offered as a possible solution of my difficulties. With more doubt than confidence, but with a willingness to consider Christian Science from its own point of view, I visited a practitioner. An hour's talk convinced me that it was worthy of investigation, for a new light was thrown on this human life-problem and I caught a glimpse of the stone which the builders had rejected. From that day to this, over seven years, I have been a constant student of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the text-book of Christian Science, and the other writings of its author, Mrs. Eddy. The methods therein explained for applying Truth in this human experience have also been constantly used, and they have never failed.
Our children do not know what it means to depend upon medicine in time of physical ills. When to the human sense of things one of them was afflicted with a malady which in addition to causing much suffering was diagnosed by physicians as probably incurable, patient application of Christian Science alone removed all trace of the complaint. We have indeed found access to the great Physician, "who healeth all thy diseases."
