VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA .—During the recent Western Canada Exhibition, held Aug. 13 to 21, a Christian Science reading-room was equipped and maintained on the grounds at Hastings Park for the use of the public, under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist, and the Christian Science Society. The booth contained a liberal supply of authorized books and literature for the use of visitors. The distribution of literature was found to be best accomplished by arranging it on a table near the walk where the crowds were passing, and by means of a sign inviting the public to help themselves. In this way the committee distributed 707 Sentinels, 34 Journals, 12 Herolds, 525 Monitors, 135 pamphlets, and 57 copies of Senator Work's speech in Congress, making a total of 1,470 pieces. This number surpassed all expectations.
