I am deeply grateful for the many blessings that I have received through Christian Science and I hope my testimony may be of help to others. Nearly fifteen years ago responsibilities and cares were suddenly thrust upon me through the passing away of my husband, and these, added to my sorrow, were crushing in their effects and seemed too great to be borne; indeed, life appeared utterly dark and hopeless.
Although I was a church-member, my sense of Scripture teaching failed me in this time of need. I did not blame God for what had happened, but I could not reconcile conditions and felt that something was very wrong and inconsistent in my conception of Him. For a year I groped in darkness, and then the blessed truth about it all was brought to me through Christian Science,—through the study of the Bible with the light thrown on its pages by that wonderful book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. In place of sorrow, joy was given me; peace for unrest, happiness for unhappiness, and best of all, a true knowledge portunity.
In the years since then, while there have been many problems to work out, as I was left with four small children to care for and error at times has seemed to have more power than truth, still whenever I have turned resolutely to God I have always received the needed help. During this time a great many blessings have come to us all through the understanding of Christian Science. Through the reading and study of our text-book I was healed of lameness and constant pain, the result of milk-leg, also of an eye trouble and heart disease. Croup, influenza, headaches, rheumatism, also other ailments, have been readily overcome for the different members of the family.
