During November, 1902, while residing in a small town in the middle states, our son, at that time fourteen months of age, was stricken with an illness which was diagnosed by a physician as spinal meningitis. We were then very young students of Christian Science, and there was bitter opposition to this teaching from members of our immediate families. So, when the child did not apparently respond to treatment and there were threats of arrest for neglect, we consented to a visit from a doctor, who pronounced the case very severe, and stated that if the child recovered, he would be left either crippled or weak-minded. Upon the rendering of this verdict, the Christian Science practitioner promptly met this argument and Truth destroyed the disease. The healing was rapid and complete, leaving no ill effects whatever. The boy is now fourteen years of age, and enjoyed perfect health since the healing, without the slightest trace of the disease.
We have had many other proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, and feel very grateful for the many blessings we have received through its teaching.
