[Written for the Sentinel]
peace of Love divine,
My heart doth sing thy song sublime!
Love's gentle presence bringeth joy
That doth all sense of grief destroy.
Forever Christ, Life unconfined,
Revealing one eternal Mind.
Thou All-in-all, Truth, Love, and Life,
Knowing nor war nor human strife,
Grant us Thy peace, Thy way to know,
Till hid in Thee we perfect grow.
So step by step shall we fulfil
The mandates of Thy heavenly will,
And nations guided by Thy rod
Shall learn at last to know Thee—God.
