Christian Scientists did the handsome thing by sending a check for five hundred dollars to the First Baptist Society of Malden to help rebuild its beautiful church destroyed by fire. Religious denominations of all kinds are more charitable to one another today than they used to be, and that fact has been conspicuously illustrated in the Malden case. The Scientists, the latest among them, were the first to show that "money talks," though all the religious societies in the city hastened to express practical sympathy.
