It was not through any physical ailment that I came into Christian Science, but its healing powers have been demonstrated to me frequently. For several years I had been afflicted with chronic lumbago, for which materia medica was given a fair trial without bringing any relief. This ailment was overcome through the study of Christian Science, although the healing was slow. I was also in constant fear of drafts, being a great sufferer from colds, which would appear at all times of the year and always in winter; but during the past winter I was free from such experiences for the first time in my memory.
While I am grateful for the physical healing, the moral transformation that has gradually taken place means even more to me. My one desire is to grow worthy to be known as a Christian Scientist. I am also deeply grateful for the privilege of church-membership, and for the many blessings that have been mine since coming into that fellowship. I am a subscriber to all the periodicals, and many have been the benefits received through their healing messages. I am indeed thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science.—Fred Mahler, Chicago, Ill.
