About a year ago I started to read the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had not progressed far when I was taken with a bad attack of influenza. I could not speak aloud and coughed nearly all the time. An absent treatment from a Christian Science practitioner helped me, but the next day she was called to my home. Seven treatments in all were given, and although there was an abscess in one ear and another in my cheek they gave me no pain. The healing was slow, but for that I am now very glad, as I feel I have a better understanding of divine Truth than I would otherwise have had.

I have also been healed of a serious hip trouble caused by a fall when I was eleven years old. The right hip was nearly twice as large as the left and gave me a great deal of trouble, but today it is very little larger and gives me no trouble whatever. Since birth I had suffered from a bowel disorder for which I was obliged to take medicine regularly. Now I am entirely free from that difficulty and have not taken any medicine for a year. Rheumatism and neuralgia have also been overcome through the study of Science and Health, and glasses that had been worn for fifteen years have been laid aside. The Bible is becoming clearer to me every day, and I enjoy reading it, whereas before I did not care to do so because I could not understand it. I had often wondered why I never joined a church, as I had always gone to church and tried to live right, but now I know I was waiting for this wonderful healing truth.

To say I am thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for this saving truth revealed in Christian Science, and the understanding that all sin, sickness, and death can be overcome, is putting it very mildly. I am striving and studying, so that I may be called a true Christian Scientist.
