The Lectures

Sterling Opera House was well filled by an audience who came to hear the Rev. William P. McKenzie lecture on Christian Science. J. M. B. Petrikin, of the First National Bank, presented the lecturer. He said:—

As you all know, this is a great age of progress and achievement in all matters, spiritual as well as material. The Christian Scientists, in their endeavor to better the human race, have done and are doing a work second to no other organization. The time for the scoffer has long since passed, and the person today who does not recognize the beneficial results of this organization, is either indifferent to the processes for the advancement of good in this world or is absolutely unwilling to admit the truth. The evidences are all about us, and are therefore easy of ascertainment. It is always a great pleasure to listen to those who are thoroughly conversant with their subject; and we have with us this evening a gentleman who will speak with full knowledge.—Correspondence.
