A few years ago we struggled with much sickness in our home. I myself was taken ill with a severe lung trouble and stayed in a sanitarium for some time, experiencing only temporary relief; in fact, the physicians said that I had but one year to live at the most. Besides this, our four-year-old daughter became afflicted with a sore foot, the case being pronounced a tubercular affection by the physician. After one year of medical treatment the condition had grown worse, inflammation of the kidneys was added, and we all thought the end might be expected. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity," as we learned on becoming acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science. We asked a practitioner for help and some explanation of the subject, with the result that I was soon able to take up my work again. With a few treatments the discharge from the foot, in the case of the child, stopped, and her general condition improved daily, until now she goes out on errands without experiencing fatigue.

For the many blessings which we have received, both physically and spiritually, since coming to Christian Science, we are profoundly thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy.
