[Translated from the German]

Deep gratitude impels me to tell of the great blessings...

Deep gratitude impels me to tell of the great blessings which we have received through Christian Science. When a baby came into our home some two years and a half ago, we had to secure the services of a physician at the birth. He doubted whether it would be possible to save the child's life, as to sense it was born prematurely. It screamed day and night, and no kind of food would agree with it; also, as a result of the crying, an umbilical rupture was added. I had heard from my sister in Dresden, who had been healed through Christian Science, of the rich blessings which this truth is bringing to many, and we therefore applied to a Christian Science practitioner for help for the child. She immediately began treatment, and we at once became aware that the little one was growing quiet. Within a short time all bad symptoms disappeared. I immediately discarded all material means which had been prescribed by the physician for the rupture, as they only added to the child's suffering, and the trouble was soon overcome. From that time our child began to grow and gain in strength, to our great joy.

About a year and a half ago, to material sense I contracted blood-poisoning. My face was wholly disfigured by the swelling, and I suffered greatly with it. We, however, put all our trust in God and soon experienced His help. We asked the same practitioner for treatment, which was lovingly taken up, and the pain immediately subsided. In one week's time I was completely healed, and there had been no return of the trouble.

I thank God for this great revelation through our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has again made known to mankind the nature of Truth. It shall be my greatest endeavor to grow in the understanding of this teaching.
