We notice in a recent issue of your paper that Dr.—condemns Christian Science as a modern theory. For our critic to make this statement, shows that he is not well informed as to what this teaching really is; therefore he is condemning only his own misconception of it.
Christian Science is not a mere assumption or conjecture regarding religion. Its teachings offer a scientific Principle and rule of life which is capable of demonstration; it has neither subtracted "one jot or one tittle" from, nor added one iota to, eternal Truth. It is but a new name given to the ever-operative law of God, which always has existed, and will continue to exist throughout eternity. Christian Science has not given the world a new God, but its teachings enable mankind to know aright the one eternally true God, who is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever." Through this understanding mortals are finding salvation and redemption from the errors of the carnal mind.
The Scriptures say, "The wrath of man shall praise thee." Christian Scientists, therefore, do not feel unkindly toward the doctor, and they do not condemn him for his hard sayings, but rejoice that he is calling the attention of the public to this new-old truth which is making men free.
