Christian Science has relieved me from the fear expressed...
Christian Science has relieved me from the fear expressed in constant expectation of death. At times I was afraid to leave the house and walk in the street, owing to a serious heart trouble from which I suffered. Sometimes, too, I could not sleep at night on account of the irregular action of my heart and the roaring noise in my ears. I had had this trouble about ten or twelve years, when I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. I was treated for about three months, and as a result I am in almost perfect health today. I was a slave to the tobacco habit,—what is known as a "cigarette fiend." I had treatment for this, and although it was hard to overcome it is more than a year since the habit was given up, and the desire for tobacco is gone completely. I have also lost all appetite for intoxicants of any kind.
About three years ago I had a distressing eruption on the face, but with treatment from a practitioner I was healed in a short time, and I have not a scar left. Some time ago I awoke one morning with severe pains in the chest, and also had great difficulty in breathing. I finally got out of bed, dressed, and made my way to a practitioner's home for treatment. After seeing him about half a dozen times, I was perfectly well. I did not ask the practitioner what the ailment was, but a medical friend, upon hearing the symptoms described, told me I had had an attack of acute lung trouble. Any one who has passed through this disease under materia medica, will realize what I was spared.
All these physical ailments that have been overcome since I became interested in Christian Science are little, however, in comparison with the mental relief I have received. I now realize the meaning of the word heaven as Mrs. Eddy explains it in Science and Health. I hope this testimony will help some one in need.—Henry G. Kruke, Milwaukee, Wis.
