The Lectures

Bicknell Young delivered two lectures on Christian Science in Second church of Christ, Scientist. He was introduced the first evening by F. M. Merwin, president of the church, who said in part:—

There seems to be abundant evidence to prove that we in this day are more generally heeding the injunction to worship God "in spirit and in truth." The interrogation of the human heart expressed in groping fears, in the to and fro of material seeking and the stress of daily living, has brought each of us at times to the tomb to inquire where they have laid the Christ. Like Job we have cried, "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!" To all this we say, Christian Science reveals Him from whose presence we cannot go. It is teaching clearly the answer to the question, "What is truth?"
