Deep gratitude for the healing of a malignant throat attack...
Deep gratitude for the healing of a malignant throat attack compels me to acknowledge the great good that Christian Science has done and is doing for our little family. The two physicians who came to diagnose the ailment, pronounced it a very serious case, and urged me to take antitoxin. I told them I could not take their remedies, but would rely upon Christian Science for help. They saw it was of no use to urge me, so they talked to my husband, hoping he did not have so much faith in Christian Science as I, and that he would use his influence to get me to take the antitoxin. My husband told them that he would not interfere with my rights and that he thoroughly believed in Christian Science, but would leave me to choose my own method of treatment.
Absent treatment was kindly given by a practitioner in Chicago. The material laws concerning this disease were broken down and I was free. I know that by having Christian Science treatment I was saved much of the suffering mortal belief says accompanies this disease. One of the physicians told a friend that I did not have a "fighting chance" for recovery. While we have nothing but the kindest feeling for the medical profession, we know was have found a better way to heal every disease and discord. I was told doctors said I would be left with heart disease, and at first there seemed to be symptoms of this, but I have been free from these for over a year. Today I am a strong, healthy woman, and am able to do whatever seems necessary for me to do.
During the years we have been interested in Christian Science we have received many blessings. No material remedies have been used, and we have found Christian Science able to meet all our needs. In our home we have seen the healing of measles, chicken-pox, mumps, acute lung trouble, rheumatism of many years' standing, ivy poisoning, a skin disease, blood-poisoning, a form of paralysis, chronic stomach and bowel disorder, and the overcoming of two cases of eye trouble. Glasses were discarded, and have not been worn for over four years. We thoroughly tested many forms of material treatment previous to our acceptance of Christian Science, but we received no permanent help.
