[Written for the Sentinel]

Seeking a Country

This day Truth calls to me to go and findA country in the plains of heavenly peace,And take for sustenance God's loving, kindRemembrances and blessings,—truly, theseWere food and drink for Abraham. No lack,No fancied human want, can turn me back.

This day Truth calls to me meekly to layAside all human will and take the landAnother spurns. Far higher than my wayIs God's, and as I follow His command,He leads me gently to the quiet plainOf substance where all human loss is gain.
