The Post-Standard

Christian Science has very much in common with all Christian denominations, going only one step farther in obedience to Jesus' command,—that of healing the sick as well as reforming the sinner through radical reliance upon God. To charge, therefore, as does a letter published in your paper, any arrogance or pride to this denomination, is not warranted. Christian Scientists are duly mindful that all that has been achieved for them is wholly due to God.

There is something that is due to the public, however. This something is to let no confusion arise as to what Christian Science is and what it is not. It is for this reason that corrections are made when Christian Science is classed with beliefs contrary to it. It should be understood that this is always done without any bitterness and without any feeling of being holier than others. It may be well to point out that Christian Scientists rest content with defining their own doctrine, and that without attacking others. This method seems to them a proper one for all to pursue. Those who have anything of real worth to offer will find this method a successful one, without doubt.
