The crowded meeting in the Town Hall on Tuesday night to hear Professor Hering's address on Christian Science is a proof of the great public interest in that subject, and amply justifies our fully reporting his address in the current issue of the City News. We commit ourselves to no opinion on the subject, as it lies outside the range of matters discussed in these columns. But as a local event it possesses some importance, more particularly as the proceedings were presided over by an eminent professor of natural science, whose attitude toward the religion expounded by Professor Hering is decidedly significant.
