Among the Churches

Current Notes

San Francisco Evening Post

Minneapolis, Minn. —Fifth Church, which is located immediately across from the university campus, has let its contract for the superstructure. The church has been worshiping in the vestry, which was fully equipped with reading-rooms, and this now marks the next step forward to the completion of the entire structure.

Sixth Church has just consummated the purchase of additional property to furnish a suitable approach to the church. This purchase gives a commanding location in one of the most important residential sections of the city, as well as on the principal street railway thoroughfare. The superstructure of the church is now completed, and plans are being made for the letting of the contract to finish the interior. Services are being held in the vestry auditorium, which is already finished, and which accommodates in the neighborhood of five hundred people.--Correspondence

Oakland, Cal.—A new Christian Science church is to be built at Twenty-third and Valley streets, to take care of the overflow congregation from First Church of Christ, Scientist. A lot 100 by 115 feet has been purchased for ten thousand five hundred dollars, and plans are being prepared for the building. The First Church building at Franklin and Seventeenth streets seats but seven hundred, and the average attendance at services there now is more than eight hundred.
