[Written for the Sentinel]

Healing

Thou dost not need to spend thy life in woe,—
No will but mortals' ever willed it so.
Thou dost not need to suffer and repine,—
A healing grace surrounds thee, all benign.
God is the name of this sustaining power,
Mighty, compassionate, ready every hour;
For God is Love and Life, and only good,
All loving in His tender parenthood.
As darkness disappears when comes the light,
So error is destroyed by pure Mind's might.
In good there is no evil, small or great,
In Life no death, in Truth no lie, in Love no hate.
God ne'er created pain, and He is All,
Therefore He made no plan for man to fall.
Attune thy thought in harmony with God,
And thou shalt wake to wisdom deep and broad.
Thus is all healing done, all good attained,
All error banished, and true riches gained.
Look up, dear child, up to thy Father's throne,—
All good is thine! Arise, and claim thine own.
