Eight years ago Christian Science found me in what seemed a hopeless condition, both physically and mentally. I had been an invalid more than twelve years, and during that time I had six physicians. The last one treated me seven years for what he called incurable stomach, liver, and bowel troubles, and I spent more than three years at his sanitarium. I tried every kind of treatment and diet known to medical science, without receiving any benefit. For seven years the diet was the most rigid, while for one year I had nothing but milk, though there were many days at a time that I could not take any food at all. Finally, the doctor told my friends that I had exhausted medical science, and that the limit of this life was but a matter of a few weeks with me.

I was in California at that time, and my husband was here. He wrote and told me what Christian Science had done for friends of his after doctors had given them up, and asked me to try it, saying that if it did not help me it could not hurt me. I had known nothing of Christian Science up to that time, but I began to take treatment. My healing was slow, but I am now thankful for this, as it has given me an opportunity to study and get the spiritual understanding to help myself many times when error would hold me down. Now, I can truly say that I am healed. I can eat anything I want, and at any time. I have learned that there is no power in food to hurt God's child.

I am more thankful to God for Christian Science than I can express in words. I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy, and to every one who has given me a cup of cold water in Christ's name.—Mrs. Amelia B. Springer, Boise, Idaho.
