It is with deep-felt gratitude to God for the many blessings...
It is with deep-felt gratitude to God for the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science that I wish to tell of some of my experiences for the benefit of the readers of the Christian Science publications, since Der Herold der Christian Science was in part instrumental in our coming into Christian Science. A year ago last winter our little one was taken ill, and we went in the first place to a Christian Science practitioner in this locality, but we had a physician diagnose the case. My dear wife never administered to the child any of the remedies prescribed, even though the futility of material means had not been entirely accepted on my part. I had yet to be shown in a convincing way, that as material beliefs gradually disappeared and we parents as well as the grandmother of the child came into the realization that God is the only healer and helper, the trouble with its attending symptoms would yield. This was done, and the child is now in better health than ever before.
It seems impossible to tell of all the many blessings which I and my family have experienced through the study of Christian Science. At times we are overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude to our all-loving Father, and we tell each other of all that has come to us, and what we are receiving daily and with every breath we draw. We have experienced, and have had plain evidence thereof time and again, that an attitude of constant gratefulness to God, the dispenser of good, enables us to receive more. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, knew this, and wisely pointed out the necessity of thanksgiving, How selfless and wise of her to have provided for a translation of Science and Health to be made into German in such a way as to leave the spirit of the inspired word unimpaired! We here in Hannover are afforded a splendid opportunity of keeping in touch with the true source of infinite knowledge and with the divine wisdom contained in the Bible. For the manifold blessings we have received in Christian Science we cannot be too grateful to God, and words are insufficient to express our deep feeling of thankfulness.
