Christian Science offers a broad field for the contemplation...

Portland (Ore.) Spectator

Christian Science offers a broad field for the contemplation of humanity. The physically ailing say it heals them; the mentally ailing say it cures them; the spiritually ailing say it saves them. Its appeal, therefore, is wide, and its efficacy seems far-reaching. The growth of Christian Science has been remarkable—almost as much so as its effect on those who practise its teachings. It seems a religion of sunlight that gives its followers a notably cheerful interest in life. They seem to have given up the thought that they must die to be happy. Christian Science, according to one of its lecturers, teaches that heaven is not reached through the dark door of death, but by right living, and that heaven is a living, active state of goodness on earth.

It is a very pleasant belief, and if followed, even without expectation of any other heaven than the one that Christian Scientists make for themselves here on earth, it must indubitably lead to that heaven which the rest of us hope for beyond the grave.
