[Written for the Sentinel.]

"I SHALL BE SATISFIED"

O glorious day, when I awake to know
Myself, as e'en the Father knoweth me,—
His child, in His own image made,
Reflecting naught but Spirit's purity.

Teach me Thy way, O God! so that each day
Be one step nearer to that heaven above:
And then, through cloud or sunshine, come what may,
I'll know naught but Thy guidance and Thy love.

Grant me the priceless gift of grace, that I
May know and do Thy will as daily bread.
A heart at leisure from itself I crave,
To comfort as I have been comforted.
