It is over six years ago that I came into Christian Science, and I feel that I am indeed tardy in acknowledging the great blessings which have come to me and to my family during all that time. Today I am impelled to make a public acknowledgement of my first healing in Science. I was healed of stomach and bowel trouble, besides a complication of other ailments, in two weeks' treatment, after I had been under medical treatment four months and was steadily growing worse all the time. I had lost all faith in medicine and had become discouraged over my condition. At that time I was living in San Antonio, and thinking that a little change would benefit me, my husband suggested that I visit my sister in Houston, and while there try Christian Science. This I did with the result before mentioned.
My heart fills with happiness and gratitude at the remembrance of my healing! How sweet it was to me, and how quickly and beautifully I was healed, returning to my home a different person in every way, and with a love and reverence for this grand truth, which had brought to me and mine such a great spiritual quickening, such peace and harmony! I am thankful to God for guiding me into this truth, and grateful to the one whose light was always shining with a brightness never dim, and whose declaration of the truth set me free indeed.
Since that time my family and I have relied on Christian Science treatment for everything, and I have had many beautiful demonstrations for my two children, aged respectively six and two years. The longing fills my heart that I may practise faithfully what I know of the truth, thus showing my gratitude to God, also to our brave, loving, and loyal Leader in Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy.
