I am indeed grateful for the understanding of Christian Science...
I am indeed grateful for the understanding of Christian Science which I have. I was healed of an organic trouble of six years' standing, through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had been doctoring for a number of years for this trouble, but received no permanent results, and at one time the doctors said that an operation was the only help for me.
Some time after this Christian Science was brought to my home by a dear sister. At first I was very bitter against what I thought Christian Science was, and would have nothing to do with it. All this time I was far from well, and while I had always been a church-member and a worker, I had come to the place where God seemed a great way off. As I was very anxious to know what there was in the textbook which caused Christian Scientists to read and study it so much, I decided to read it for myself and tell no one I was doing so, but before I had read the book half through I was entirely healed. This was over six years ago, and I have had no return of the trouble.
During these six years the truth has met every need when it has been rightly applied. I have been healed of many other ills, such as headache, which I was believed to have inherited, and acute throat trouble, also a fractured arm. These and other ailments have all been healed through the understanding of God as given to us by Mrs. Eddy, in Science and Health. For these physical healings I am grateful but more grateful for the clearer understanding of God and of man's relation to Him.
