Sincere gratitude impels me to testify to the blessings...
Sincere gratitude impels me to testify to the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. For years I suffered with organic heart difficulty and a nervous affection. I had been treated by many physicians, none of whom were able to relieve me; on the contrary, my ailments kept growing worse. Last year I lost weight alarmingly and grew steadily weaker, until it became almost impossible for me to work or even to walk, and the physicians then gave me up. Severe as the physical suffering was, my mental suffering was still greater, for I could believe in God no more; and yet God was very near, though I did not know it then.
I thus experienced the truth of the saying that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." A lady called my attention to Christian Science, and although I was rather skeptical at first, I felt a sense of trust after I had had a talk with a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly explained the truth to me. A sense of infinite bliss came over me, and my troubles vanished as if they had never existed. I might say that my healing was instantaneous. I am now a happy and contented man, and have found in Christian Science a religion which meets my heart's desire. I will thank God all the days of my life, and be ever grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
Wilhelm Dickow, Mariendorf, b. Berlin, Germany.
