Christian Science healed me, in three weeks' treatment, of asthma with a complication of stomach and heart trouble of fifteen years' standing. I had tried almost every remedy that was ever heard of, but each one would help me for a little while and then I would be as bad as ever. For years I never had a full night's sleep; night after night I would sit up in bed, till I would drop to sleep in the morning from sheer exhaustion. I tried a great many physicians, and every device, no matter how expensive, that was advertised to heal this disease; but nothing did me any good, and at times an opiate had to be resorted to. My life was an awful burden and there seemed no possible escape. This lasted for fifteen years, and during this time I was under constant medical attendance, and spent thousands of dollars for this and for drugs, etc.

When Christian Science was brought to my notice by a friend, I resented it at first; but after a very hard sick spell, which left me a complete wreck, I thought I would like to try Christian Science and see what it would do for me. My family wanted to send me South for a change, but I asked them instead to let me try this treatment, and see if it would help me. They decided to do so, and in just three weeks I was a well woman, all made over new by the power of divine Love as revealed in Christian Science, through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. That was seven years ago, and today I am perfectly well, as hundreds of people can testify to and vouch for the truth of this statement, for I have lived in this county most of my life. When healed through Christian Science, I threw away every material remedy I had, and rejoiced in my freedom. I might mention that previous to my taking Christian Science treatment I was unable to eat many things or to go where I pleased, but now I can eat anything I wish and travel with perfect comfort.—Mrs. Maria J. After a month's struggle with a form of illness which to sense seemed incurable, I was thoroughly discouraged, but when I entered the Christian Science reading-room one afternoon, a practitioner was voicing the truth, and on leaving the room I realized that the sense of discouragement had left me. Two days later I called on the practitioner for help, and was healed in two weeks, for which I am most thankful.
