In 1910 I had a most serious attack of illness, complicated with throat trouble, my physician saying that it was the worst he had ever seen; and even after I became better there was a period of six months that I could not speak aloud. As I am a professional reader, this meant a great loss of time and money to me, and the fear of entirely losing my voice was very assertive in me and my family. I was preparing for a concert tour, but afraid I should have to give it up.
I then decided to try Christian Science, and as a neighbor was a practitioner I asked her to take the case. She did so, and my throat was entirely healed in a few treatments, my voice resumed its flexibility, and the fear of ever losing it left me. Later, while on the road, I had an attack of cold with great hoarseness, and wrote at once to the Scientist for help. She received my letter on the morning mail, and by ten o'clock every trace of cold had gone and my voice was as clear as usual. I have also been treated successfully for catarrh of years' standing, continued suffering from female difficulties, besides which I am being helped to lay aside glasses which I have worn for fourteen years. I have the greatest confidence in Christian Science, and shall always be very thankful for the great help given me in treatment.
