I wish to add my testimony to the many helpful ones...

I wish to add my testimony to the many helpful ones given by grateful people. In september, 1899, the truth as taught in Christian Science came into our home and in a few days healed my husband of appendicitis, gall-stones, and heart trouble, after the physician had said he could not live a week and possibly not until night. Four days later we both walked about two miles to church for the Wednesday evening service.

In less than three weeks I was healed of almost every ill that flesh is heir to, among these being lung trouble, female weakness, deafness, defective vision of about sixteen years' standing, rheumatism, constant distress in my head, supposedly inherited biliousness, of which I had had an attack every spring and fall since childhood. I could never remember a time when I did not feel tired, until the day when Christian Science came into our home. I opened the textbook, Science and Health, which a dear friend had loaned us, and read: "Mortal mind does the false talking, and that which affirms weariness, made that weariness" (p. 218). I was so impressed with the further thought that Mind governs the body, that I arose next morning perfectly rested, the throbbing in my head was gone, and I felt much stronger. Other ailments have never had since this healing. We had four children at that time, and our boy, now nine years old, has never had any medicine. He was born without the restrictions usual in such conditions, as the one I had expected to help me did not get there, so I washed and dressed the child myself.

Knowing the truth has surely made us free, and divine Love has met all our needs. Our gratitude and love to God, also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, are more than words can express.
