AMONG THE CHURCHES

CURRENT NOTES

Cripple Creek, Col. —At an enthusiastic meeting of the members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Oct. 15, it was decided to take immediate steps toward the completion of the church building at the corner of Fourth street and Carr avenue. The building was only partly finished, and the foundation for over half of it has been standing for several years. Although the building will not be so large as the one originally designed, the paln is to remove the old stone foundation that is not to be used, and give the building a finished appearance.—Cripple Creek Times.

Ballarat, Australia.—On Sept. 16, in the lecture room at the City hall, we had the glad privilege of listening to Bliss Knapp, in a very clear, forceful, and convincing lecture on Christian Science. The hall was well filled, and the audience followed the lecturer with profound interest throughout, expressions of regret being rife at the close that the lecture could not be repeated. We feel that the leaven of Truth is working in the public thought, and look for an increased attendance at our services. We are very grateful for the lectures, and are greatly cheered and helped to continue bravely on our way, hopeful and rejoicing.
