Cleveland (O.) Leader

The call of Christian Science is, as one writer expresses it, to the spiritual ego, to the inner man, that he should rise up and shake off the domination of material things and enter the promised land of light, Life, and Love; he believes this is a truth the soul has long sought after in vain, and, when once found, it brings the peace that passes understanding and which the world cannot take away. It means freedom; it means perfect communion with God; it means clear vision; and it means complete victory.

Then why fight Christian Science? Its marvelous growth during the past eighteen years compels respect and admiration. It is supplying a great need in modern life and is, therefore, accomplishing a great deal of good. It is filling the hearts of thousands with a comfort and a peace they would obtain in no other way; it is spreading sunshine and happiness over an age of nerve-racking strain and toil; its beneficent influence is helping thousands to continue to do their work in the world, and this old world will lose much of its hate and greed and suffering and shame.
