Springfield (Ill.) News

Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy lived long enough to see the Science which she founded become one of the permanent and uplifting forces of Christendom. It is about thirty-five years ago that Mrs. Eddy published her now famous book, known as "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and it was four years later that the first Christian Science church was formed with seventeen members. Today there are nearly a thousand chartered churches, nearly four thousand recognized practitioners, and a total church-membership of a million souls.

Something of an achievement to be accomplished in thirty-five years, and all within the lifetime of the Founder.
