In the hope of benefiting some one else, I wish to offer...
In the hope of benefiting some one else, I wish to offer the following testimony of my healing through Christian Science. I was a Sufferer from a severe case of stomach trouble for over five years, and during this time had spent hundreds of dollars in trying the best physicians of the city, with little or no relief. I had reached a point where I was not allowed to eat solid foods, and had become so nervous and irritable that life was indeed a burden.
It was at this dark hour that Christian Science was presented to me, and I immediately decided to give it a trial. I called on a practitioner, and to my surprise was greatly benefited by the first treatment and found myself completely healed after the second one. Through my healing my husband became interested and took up the study of Science and Health, with the result that he was enabled to lay off his glasses, although he had been told a short time before by an oculist not only that he would never be able to do without them, but in time would require stronger ones.
Through the understanding of the Bible which Christian Science has given us, our home life has been entirely changed, and God has become indeed a very present help. Having been members of a church for twelve years, we were much gratified to find that Christian Science taught the same God, but made plainer the way by which we can turn to Him for our physical healing. Because of this enlarged understanding of God taught by Christian Science, we later became members of Ninth Church of Christ, Scientist. We are indeed grateful for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought to us, and words cannot express the gratitude we feel toward Mrs. Eddy for her many sacrifices and unselfish patience in pointing out the way for us.—Mrs. Anna Van Arsdale, Chicago, lll.
