I have long felt a sincere desire to show my gratitude for the many and great blessings which Christian Science has brought to me. I was a complete invalid from spinal trouble, spending most of the time in bed and part of that time was under opiates.

My husband is a traveling man, and among his customers was one who, after being told by the doctors that he must die, had been healed by Christian Science. This gentleman visited San Francisco every few months for his supplies, and on one of these visits he found my husband, who had just come home from a trip, in the store. On inquiring after my health, he was informed that the doctor had told me the day before to go to bed and stay there until I was well enough to wear a brace again, and that this treatment was to continue, as he had exhausted all his skill and knew that nothing more could be done for me.

The gentleman then recommended Christian Science treatment for me, and when my husband came home he asked, "How would you like to try Christian Science?" I had not the slightest idea of what it was, but I replied, "Oh, anything, if it will only relieve me." It was then arranged that I should begin the next morning to take treatment.
