The influence of Christian Science supplants one's desire...

Colorado Springs (Col.) Gazette

The influence of Christian Science supplants one's desire for worldly riches and material wealth with the desire to be good, holy, pure, and righteous. The thought of the consecrated Christian Scientist is so filled with the allness of God, Spirit, that he is enabled to lift himself above the physical into the spiritual, a realm which is the desired habitation of those who follow God "in deed and in truth." Mrs. Eddy says: "Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas" (Science and Health, p. 123).

Christian Science exposes and denounces hypnotism or the influence of the erring human mind; it saves the victims of this enslaving mortal domination. Christian Science is the realization and understanding of the omnipotence and infinite love of God, which frees man from all false bondage. The sick are healed and the sinning are reformed when man fully understands his relation to God, the all-loving Father, "full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth."
