Washington (Ia.) Democrat

Christian Scientists recognize that to the human sense of things, pain, sickness, and discords of various sorts are very real. There is, however, little to be gained by emphasizing the seeming reality of these things and much to be gained by that attitude of thought which minimizes fear and which entertains hope and confidence in God and in the promises given in Scripture of His healing and saving power. Christian Scientists appreciate all that is beautiful, good, and true in nature and in art. Their endeavor is to emphasize the good and to overcome the evil, and thus bring about better, happier, and more perfect conditions for themselves and for humanity.
