That the embers of religious intolerance have not altogether...

Dayton (O.) News

That the embers of religious intolerance have not altogether died out in our midst is evidenced by articles which have appeared in a religious periodical published in Dayton, O., against the Christian Science church and the Unitarian church. In the same denominational paper the management of the Young Men's Christian Association is criticized because they permitted a Unitarian minister to preach in the auditorium.

What is the necessity of throwing stones at one another? Are not all denominations striving to do good? Is not the world made better wherever the Bible may be read, whether by Jewish, Catholic, or Protestant people? Does not each denomination have a right to exist? Has it not a right to hold services, and be unmolested, and not be assailed by other professing Christians? Why the necessity of speaking unkindly and untruthfully of one another? Have not all people the right to worship God according to the light they have? Does not the Constitution of our land grant such privileges? If God is Love, and if we believe it, and if all denominations live love, will we not have respect and esteem for one another?
