I wish to tell of a wonderful experience of healing...
I wish to tell of a wonderful experience of healing which came to me through Christian Science. I am a pianist and teacher, and had been so ill for five years that I was unable to attend to my profession, to which I was strongly attached. According to the physicians' opinion, it was a case of overexertion, but all that I tried in the way of "cures" or long stays in sanitariums failed to restore me to health, and a long course of treatment in "mental science" had no effect upon my trouble. I had heard of Christian Science many years, ago, but, considering it to be faith-cure, I had smiled at it. However, as there was no prospect of my getting better, in the hour of greatest despair I yielded to the entreaties of a friend, and in December, 1908, after having just come from a sanitarium, I went to Hannover and called upon a Christian Science practitioner. I was in a doubting frame of mind, but after the first treatment and talk I knew that this is "the way," and that God had infinitely blessed me through His having guided me to it. After the second treatment I no longer had the pain in the head and neck which had tortured me during all those years, and after the sixth treatment I was able to resume my profession. Since then I have been most active, with a sense of greatest happiness often coming over me.
I have not only been made whole physically, but also feel that Christian Science makes me a better and more harmonious woman; it educates me, and makes me grow to a higher understanding all the time. I hope that through my experience many others may be brought to Christian Science, for which I am infinitely grateful, so that they too may enjoy its great blessings.
