I suffered greatly from a stroke of lightning, which caused my leg and foot to be helpless, and was constantly under a physician's care for three months. I was then taken to consult noted physicians, and these specialists said my physician had done all that could be done in materia medica. In desperation I then said, "I believe I will try Christian Science." The specialist said enough in favor of Christian Science to lead my husband to be willing to try it. I was practically carried into the practitioner's home, but I walked out without even my cane. About a year after this healing I asked help in Christian Science for a throat trouble of many years' standing, for which I had treatment by the best throat specialists in the country. One had treated me six months, the other most of the time for a year. In about two weeks' treatment in Christian Science, however, I was greatly relieved.
I am indeed glad to express my gratitude for Christian Science for all this help. No one can know the good that Science has done in this one home, for I had been a great sufferer for years. I was in a hospital over seven months, and away from home for months at a time, taking medical treatment. Since my healing in Christian Science, about five years ago, I have been able to take charge of my home, which has brought more harmony and happiness to it; and my husband and daughters rejoice with me. Upon my return home after the healing, friends recognized the healing power of Christian Science. Even our family physician, who met me on the street, stopped me to ask what I had done to be cured, or to be able to walk. I said that it was Christian Science, and the doctor replied, "Well, well, Christian Science has done one good deed!"
I want to express my gratitude to our Leader for Science and Health, which has brought the light of Truth to the Scriptures. I had always studied the Bible, but never saw the truth until I studied it with the illumination afforded by Science and Health.
