Words cannot express my gratitude for what God has done for me and my children through Christian Science. My boy, twelve years old, was seemingly at death's door with blood-poisoning. We had two of the best doctors in Crawford to treat him, but they did him no good. They told us there was no help for him, but today, thank God, he is healed and well. He had been taken to town for medical treatment, and five incisions were made around the knee, but he kept growing worse, until the surgeon said he could not do any more unless he amputated the limb.

At this point a Christian Science friend suggested that we try Christian Science. The physical manifestations were dreadful,—both limbs enlarged, the bowels affected, and a weight had been hung on the leg to try to straighten it. When the Scientist took the case the surgeon was allowed to dress the limb for a few days, but the improvement not being fast enough, an aunt of the boy, who was also his nurse, wanted Christian Science altogether; so the weight was taken off and the end of the bed lowered.

When the surgeon saw this, he would not have anything more to do with the case. In less than a week, however, the boy was sent home, twelve miles on a train, and then three miles in a wagon. He was soon able to walk with crutches and put his foot to the floor. Then his desire to play with the other children led him to hold up his foot, thereby hindering the straightening of the knee for a time, but he became well and stout. I am happy to say that he is now walking without the aid of crutch or cane, and while the knee is somewhat stiff it is improving.
