Christian Science is a spiritual, demonstrable religion,...
St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press
Christian Science is a spiritual, demonstrable religion, founded upon the Bible and the works of the great teachers and prophets whose history and narratives of works appear therein. There is nothing in the fundamentals of Christian Science that furnishes any foundation for the statements which are so often made, that Christian Science declares the nothingness of physical phenomena so far as mortal experience is concerned. We do say that physical objects, substance, aches and pains, as well as sin and suffering, seem and are decidedly real to the person who experiences them, but we also say that they arise from an erroneous conception of facts, and that when man arrives at the understanding in which he gains the proper concept of the relation between God and man, these false impressions of what is real fade away and he attains to the actual truth of reality.
There is no reason for any one's displaying ignorance on the question of Christian Science. The opportunities are open for every one to gain a correct idea of its basic truth. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" can be read and understood by any one who desires to arrive at the truths therein enunciated. In every city of any size there are free reading-rooms where Christian Science literature can be obtained and read. In almost every city and town in the country there are services, both on Sundays and Wednesday nights, and through any or all of these sources one can obtain the proper concept of what Christian Science is.
