THE LECTURES

A large and interested audience assembled at the City Hall Monday night, Feb. 14, to listen to the address of Frank H. Leonard on Christian Science. Albert Roberts, chairman of the board of education, introduced the speaker in part as follows:—

The citizens of our city are to be favored this evening with a lecture on a subject which is attracting the attention of thoughtful men and women everywhere, namely, Christian Science. Strange to say, after nearly twenty centuries since the great personage Jesus of Nezareth appeared among his own people, teaching in parables the great truths of nature, that we in this twentieth century should be devoting more thought and energy than any people heretofore have devoted to a study and attempt at elucidation of the great Principle of life enunciated and wrought out in actual practice by him.—St. Thomas Times.
