A LETTER FROM BOSTON

We have been privileged to see the following extract from a letter written by a Christian Scientist who has recently visited The Mother Church and the publishing house in Boston. The impression which the work that is being done here made on this visitor may be of interest to our readers; therefore we are giving it place here.—Editor.

"I arrived here just in time to attend The Mother Church last Sunday morning. The service seemed an unusually beautiful one. Everything was very simple and quiet, even to the music. I was reminded of the by-law which says the music shall not be operatic.

"I have visited both of the reading-rooms, and found in them the same restfulness and marked simplicity which pervaded the church. I have been pleased with the happy medium they attain in everything. There are none of the extremes which attend an effort to outdo others. They seem to have studied to have the outward appearance of things such that no attention will be drawn to it.
