Ypsilanti (Mich.) Daily Press

Through the kindness of some friend, the editor is now receiving regularly the recently organized daily paper called The Christian Science Monitor. At a recent meeting of the Woman's Press Club at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York city, this rather complimentary statement was made by a woman present: "A very remarkable departure in journalism has been inaugurated in Boston within the past year. This is a newspaper which has the unique distinction of being an absolutely clean sheet, which fact strongly commends it to all persons who advocate reforms of this character. I refer to The Christian Science Monitor. which was given to the world by a woman—Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy."

This paper bears evidence of being backed by ample money. Its editorial page is a creditable one. There isn't a dirty advertisement in it. Typographically, it is clear and clean and pleasing. We shall watch its editorial utterances with a good deal of interest, to see whether the optimism and the speak-a-good-word idea, which seems so prominent in the creed of the Christian Science people will prevent it from fearlessly attacking evil and fraud when cases arise which demand it.
